Three Points to Know About Intuition

Have you ever had to make a decision and found yourself wavering between what your logistical brain says and what your heart says? Your brain says that it doesn't make sense to take that vacation when you have so much to do here. Your heart says to go on the vacation because you could use some much-needed rest away from the day-to-day. You struggle with reconciling your brain's logic and your heart's logic because the heart's logic doesn't fit into your neat framework of life.

Three points to know about intuition:

1. You need both your brain logic and your heart logic (otherwise known as intuition). Your brain's logic will always provide you with the facts, practicality, and common sense necessary for any decision. It will give you a clear and effective path to achieve the desired outcome. Your heart logic is your intuition that communicates with you regarding the decision, and it often does not follow any practical logic, straight line, or plan for the outcome.

2. Your brain's logic sounds like your voice in your head and makes logical sense to you; it will provide a spreadsheet of the pros and cons of the decision and guide you toward the most sensible course of action. Your heart logic is your voice, yet quieter. It can manifest in the form of hunches, gut feelings, an unexplainable sense of knowing, messages in the form of song lyrics, emails, texts, phone calls, license plates, etc, or an overall feeling that something (such as a decision) is just right

3. It's when you acknowledge and accept that your brain logic provides you with facts and your heart logic gives you the truth, the less you'll say things like'Ugh, I knew I should have made the other decision,'  and the more of an overall sense of peace you'll have about most decisions in your life.

Remember that following your intuitive heart logic is a brave, beautiful, and courageous act. Intuitive heart logic isn't a separate thing outside of you; rather, it is you. It is a significant influencer in every decision you make and can positively impact your life in many ways if you choose to act, follow, listen to, and trust it. Here's a quote to sum it up:

Your intuition differs from your conscience; both work together, but here's the distinction. Your conscience SHOUTS, 'Here's what you should do!' while your intuition whispers, 'Here's what you could do.' – Stephen Spielberg
