Skin - Your Most Precious Asset.

Skin. 

When you think of skin, you probably think of conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, or skin cancer. However, your skin affects your overall health much more than your mirror can or will ever show, and here are a few. 

1. Your skin is your body's largest organ. I protect all your organs, muscles, and blood vessels and work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to keep germs out.

2. When exposed to UV rays—e.g., the sun or tanning beds —your skin helps you form healthy bones and teeth by making more Vitamin D. This enables you to absorb all the calcium you take, ultimately contributing to better bone health.  

3. Your skin is a ready-made natural cooling and heating system. It keeps you cool when you're hot by causing you to sweat; when you're cold, that fatty layer of tissue deeper underneath the surface helps you insulate against it. This natural system also explains why people who don't have that fatty layer are seemingly always cold. When you get goosebumps, your blood vessels move further from the surface to keep you warm and reduce heat loss from your muscles.  

4. Finally, your sense of touch is essential and comes from your skin. T e millions of nerve endings in your skin can subtly detect danger, heat sensations, and pain, warning your muscles to move quickly to prevent any injuries from occurring or worsening 

While it's important to acknowledge the above excellent qualities of your skin, it's also important to give recognition to the care and protection of your skin in regards to what your skin ingests every day from its acting as a giant filter that absorbs everything energetically from people to technology to anything in between and beyond -- your skin, by the day's end is filled to the brim with energetic stuff from everything and everyone that you had contact with from the time you awoke. 

Think about that for a second. 

Think about a vacuum that has a filter that hasn't been cleaned; when you go to use it, it doesn't have any suction, or it's poor at best - it's trying to give you its best, yet it's struggling because it's reached its capacity of sucking in the dirt; the next step is eruption if attempting a suction continues.  

That's how your skin is filled with dirt, literally and figuratively, at day's end. 

It's gross if you sit down to think about it. 

So, instead of letting you go down the rabbit hole of getting grossed out, I'll do you something better and share with you my internal and external water cleansing rituals that I follow to help protect my skin - inside and out - from absorbing too much stuff so that at the day's end, I'm less apt to want to bite someone's head off or fly off the handle at the slightest thing because the water rituals give a layer of protection or buffer between me and the world. 

And—at least for me—consistently following the rituals works. I'm by no means perfect—some energy sticks with me, and I end up taking it out on someone, but that's what being a human being is about—imperfection within perfection and learning to recognize it so I can be more aware of myself and others along the path.  

Here are the rituals. 

1. The Internal Water Protection Ritual involves using a shower enema, which I use three times per week, usually Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, to cleanse my colon of any excess debris or nasty energies from what my liver and kidneys filtered out through the week. 

2. The External Water Protection Ritual involves vintage-style razors, lavender-scented shaving soapcastor oil shampoo, and conditioner. I follow this ritual every day when I take it, doing quickie versions during the workweek—taking into account the addition of the internal ritual three times per week—and then more luxurious extended versions on the weekends. 

First, I wash my entire body with shaving soap, paying extra attention to the nooks and crannies of my skin. N tx, I shave my armpits, feet, lower legs, thighs, private parts, and buttocks with shaving soap. I rinse my entire body from head to toe under the hot water. Finally, I give my head a good scrubbing and massage with castor oil shampoo, ensuring I wash my face and ears before rinsing again from head to toe. A final dollop of castor oil conditioner rubbed evenly through my wet hair, and a two-second rinse sealed the deal. 

Standing on the bath mat, I pat myself dry, gently rub my entire body with organic coconut oiland put a little Delight on my pulse points before dressing for work. 

When I don't perform the external water protection ritual, I am much more aware of my energy and my reactions and actions toward others. In other words, if I don't wash off the old dirt collected and then allow more dirt to collect, I need to be hyper-alert because the dirt suction is at its all-time max at that point. 

The longest I've gone without doing the internal water protection ritual has been four days, and the external water protection ritual has been two days—two and four days are always way too long in today's world with today's stuff.  

Both of these water rituals are an essential part of my daily routine. They have helped and continue to help me positively with my personal relationships, work relationships, client relationships, patience level, and more.
